I treasure it as you treasure your read of Manhattan Beach, a book on my all-time favorite list, in part, because she challenged my prodigious vocabulary as well as my vision of history. My mom read Bel Canto nit long after her stroke in 2012 and loved it. A year later she saw it in the library and asked if I'd read it. I saw she didn't remember it so I told her she should read it. She did and loved it...again.
