Nice to see you're a fellow Granite Stater (in the diaspora). Our house was in Melvin Village across the street from the big lake. We know loons and lupines very well . . .

Nice to connect with you, too. I am a former Granite Stater with lots of family and friends still there. They give me visiting privileges. I miss it very much so I channel the Granite State in my writing and newsletter. Thanks for joining us!

Alas, I will never be able to look at lupines without thinking a line of a poem by Ingeborg Bachmann - "Lösch die Lupinen." - put out (or extinguish) the lupines.
