I'm reading the travel book of the year for 2011, "Molotov's Magic Lantern -Travels in Russian History". It is best described as a stew made up of Russian travel, Russian writers, and Russian history.
I have learned that Molotov was not a famous bartender as some may believe. He and Stalin were both avid readers of every possible book. The Russian landscape has shaped the Russian personality.
And (moment of zen) Stalin was quite attractive to women.
I followed your suggestion and read "SIPSWORTH" to give me inspiration to go on. Sometimes we just need a little mouse to take care of for awhile, to open up our eyes to others that may participate in our lives.
Although I participated in the "Hands OFF" protest I felt it prudent for me to avoid any possible confrontation in the "No KINGS" protest. I will try NOT to observe ANY footage of the wasteful and insane DC parade, and will focus upon the thousands in the streets today that give me some comfort that democracy is truly worth fighting for.
I get it. I hope you continue to grant yourself grace when your brain and heart just can't ignore the demands of this world and allow you to write. I have been struggling with this myself.
Thanks so much for the link to my article Elizabeth. I'm so glad it reached you at the right moment 😊
I saw videos and heard from friends in San Diego about the amazing turnout for the protests against President Trump. I loved it!
I see pictures of huge crowds in San Diego

This is so interesting, Ron. It's not a book I would seek out on my own but you've aroused my curiosity. I'd like to understand Russia better.

It was a special little book - and unexpectedly so, for me.
We haven't watched any footage of the "other parade" and I am still very uplifted by the sheer size and spirit of the San Diego crowds. 60k!!!!
Thank you for the shout out, Betsy!
Take care out there, everyone :)
My husband and I attended our city's No King's protest. We've attended 2 other protests and will continue to shop up at every protest that is held.
Yay, Kathy and thank you!

Thanks, Jen. Sometimes something's got to give, right?
